- Jacob takes on a dangerous plasma ring assignment while Smitty uncovers a promising new lead.
- Bill’s attempt to vent to Dani sparks a tense clash with Andre.
- Anita and Vernon finally receive uplifting news amid ongoing struggles.
Plasma Ring Update
Jacob (Jibre Hordges) and Smitty’s criminal investigation takes a couple of turns this week. First, Jacob is tasked with a dangerous assignment, and according to BTG’s weekly video preview, we will eventually see the detective in action. It appears that he will have to engage with someone from the criminal plasma ring.
Second, Smitty (Mike Manning) plays the investigative reporter angle and uncovers a new lead that doesn’t come from his shaky informant, who could back out at any minute. This lead comes from Orphey Gene’s favorite waitress, June (Jasmine Burke). We’ll see if it will have an impact on the investigation. But it’s clear that June is a great person to have around.
In potentially related news, Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) and Ashley (Jen Jacob) tend to an injured old friend. Is this an innocent development? Or will it ultimately involve the plasma ring that Jacob and Smitty are investigating?
The Clash
The Andre (Sean Freeman), Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett), and Dani (Karla Mosley) love triangle is super chaotic right now. And it gets even more chaotic when Hayley (Marquita Goings) makes it a quadrangle. In Tuesday’s episode, it’s understandable why Andre might not want to let Bill in the house to talk to Dani. After all, Dani confessed to her husband that she had recently kissed Bill.
Now she said it was more of a goodbye thing, although she was transparent about what often happens between them when they reminisce about the good old days. But she did kiss him even though she is happily married. It’s easy to see why Andre would like to draw some very real boundaries between Dani and Bill.
As a result, when Bill wants to vent to Dani about their daughter, he also clashes with Andre in the process. Hopefully, Andre will finally be able to spell things out for Bill in a way he will understand. But Bill probably has a valid reason for wanting to vent to Dani. Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) is engaged, and maybe Bill thinks things are moving too fast for his daughter and her fiancée.
Speaking of the engagement, Madison (Kenjah) makes another life-changing decision. Does she decide not to go to Copenhagen? Does she want to get married sooner rather than later?
Good News Day
Anita (Tamara Tunie, BTG’s January Performer of the Month) and Vernon (Clifton Davis) have been on the wrong end of the news cycle lately. It has been one thing after another ever since Anita received her cancer diagnosis. Most recently, Anita’s hair started falling out, forcing her to make a major hairstyle change. The good news is that Anita and Vernon are about to receive wonderful news.
Perhaps this is simply Chelsea spreading the news of her engagement. Or maybe the Dupree matriarch and patriarch get an update on Anita’s health that’s something to celebrate.
