This week, CBS preempted its newest soap, Beyond the Gates, to broadcast UEFA Champions League Soccer, which aired on Tuesday and Wednesday. Good news. The groundbreaking daytime drama is back on Thursday, May 1, and the action promises to be downright scandalous due to Leslie’s revenge agenda against Ted and Nicole. Look for those plans to come crashing down at the couple’s anniversary party. The network rolled out a teaser hyping up the Richardsons’ big blowout this week. And it shows even more of what will go down at what’s supposed to be one of the happiest occasions of their lives.
The Delicious Drama
If Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) has her way, Ted (Maurice Johnson) and Nicole’s (Daphnée Duplaix) get-together will become a nightmare. Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree) posted the fun and dramatic BTG teaser on her Instagram account and asked fans, “Who’s keeping up with this drama?!?!? 👀.”
The Breakdown
The BTG narrator sets the tone for what’s about to go down starting Thursday. “Beyond the Gates, a celebration of love goes horribly wrong,” the voice says, warning fans that the anniversary party probably won’t end well for Ted and Nicole. Leslie shows up, and as Mona (Karan Kendrick) looks on, Eva (Ambyr Michelle) attempts to stop her mother in her tracks. This revenge train isn’t going to stop anytime soon.

“You have to leave now!” Eva warns. But you know Leslie. She’s not stopping for anything. “Are you gonna tell wifey who I am?” Leslie asks Ted. It looks like the plastic surgeon leads with denial when he insists, “That is a lie!” But how long will his denials hold up? This isn’t a court of law, but something tells us Leslie will get him to spit out the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) sums up the moment as a devastated Nicole cries on her sister’s shoulder, “This is a total nightmare,” she states. Kat (Colby Muhammad), who has been on to Eva and her mom for a while now, sounds scared. “Why do I suddenly feel like I’m about to lose my family?”
The men’s emotions are also high. While we haven’t seen many interactions between Ted and his son, Martin (Brandon Claybon), the congressman shows his disgust at his dad’s betrayal. “You’re despicable!” he shouts as he pushes his dad hard.
