Andre Calls Out Dani
Andre (Sean Freeman) has a lot on his mind. First, Heather (Ashley Jones) continues to put pressure on him to reignite their previous, uh, situation. She wants him, and she doesn’t care that he’s married.
Second, his wife has been dealing with the drama that is Hayley (Marquita Goings) and Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett). Because Bill turned to Dani (Karla Mosley), she was able to expose Hayley’s long con. And when she isn’t processing the fact that Hayley held a gun to her, she’s checking in with Bill to see if he’s okay.
Needless to say, Andre’s patience is withering away. He expressed his frustration to his Uncle Ted (Keith D. Robinson). And now, on Friday, he will unleash on Dani. He’ll have harsh criticisms for his wife of one year.
Considering that they will both attend the Banneker Homecoming festivities, will this awkward and sensitive conversation take place during Anita’s party? Or will they have enough sense to have this conversation away from prying eyes?
Bill Tells Elon the Truth
Thanks to Hayley, Bill’s in a bad place. His soon-to-be ex-wife has leverage over him and the Duprees, and even Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) and Elon Hawthorne (Malachi Malik), the chief of police.
So he’s forced to get the charges against her dropped. And according to him, he’ll have to pull some strings to do it. So it’s no surprise that Bill will come clean to Elon and let him know exactly what’s up, especially since he was part of the Martin (Brandon Claybon) cover-up.
Anita’s Homecoming Party and Vernon’s Troubling News
Anita (Tamara Tunie) loves to entertain, especially for the family. On Friday, she throws a Homecoming party. The family will gather together to celebrate Banneker, where Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller) recently started school.
The celebration will force Ted and Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) to navigate their new normal with Shanice (Ernestine Johnson) and Kial (Greg Hughes). How awkward will things get? Meanwhile, look for Vernon (Clifton Davis) to get intel that puts him on high alert. Will this news cause the Dupree patriarch to go into protection mode?
Heather Holds the Cards, But Joey Has a Plan
Finally, the weekly teasers suggest that Heather is in the catbird seat. She has made some moves designed to solidify her presence in the DMV. She bought Uptown. Additionally, Heather ingratiated herself with Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) and Dani.
And she had Lia (Cecelia Specht) killed. She also has Smitty (Mike Manning) spooked (of course, he doesn’t know she is The Impaler). The woman keeps applying pressure on Andre. And then there was this whole Vanessa carjacking that probably sent a message to Joey, who keeps trying to get his sister to go back to London.
While Heather’s the one in control, Joey plots to protect Vanessa. Should Heather be worried?
