Anita Turns to Music, But Will It Give Her What She Needs?
The Duprees once again have been inundated with drama. Conflicts are erupting within the family. Martin (Brandon Claybon) and Smitty (Mike Manning) are at odds with Jacob (Jibre Hordges) over Lia’s death and a deepfake video.
Dani (Karla Mosley) has been wrapped up in Bill’s black widow chaos. And thanks to Hayley’s leverage over Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett), the entire family and their reputation could be affected. Additionally, Anita (Tamara Tunie) was battling cancer not too long ago.
On Thursday, Anita finds comfort in music. It’s her passion and her calling. And it could be her way to deal with all this drama and trauma. Unfortunately, she hasn’t exactly reconnected with her voice since her chemo sessions ended.
However, Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) recently helped her mom realize that her vocal issues were of the psychological variety, not the physical. So maybe when Anita turns to music this time, it comes through for her big time.
Dani’s Past Imperfect
It’s clear that Andre (Sean Freeman) is super frustrated with his wife’s need to support Bill and clean up his mess. He has expressed his frustration. But Dani and Andre have a long way to go before he’ll be okay with all the time she has been spending with her ex-husband. When Andre dredges up Dani’s past, how will she react? This might put Dani on the defensive.
But Dani should be thankful that there’s one part of her recent past that Andre knows nothing about. And that is her elevator fling with Bill the night of the tornado. When is that little ditty going to be revealed?
Nicole Gets Real with Vanessa
Nicole is about to turn to Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) to vent. When she gets candid with her bestie, this isn’t necessarily about Joey’s effect on Vanessa. And how she feels he can’t keep her safe. This could be about her family’s pattern of keeping her out of the loop because they think she’s too fragile.
Anita, Dani, and Vernon (Clifton Davis) waited until after the Homecoming pre-party to tell her about Hayley’s leverage. And she was upset. It had to do with her son and that awful evening he and Vernon endured a few years back. She didn’t like or understand that they didn’t tell her right away. And so she may vent to Vanessa about it.
And who knows, she could also touch on her chat with Deanna (Angela Fairley). When Nicole talked to Deanna, the college student didn’t really listen. But when Dani talked to her, Deanna went straight to Vanessa to work things out. Something like that is liable to make a psychiatrist hella frustrated.
In Other DMV/Fairmont Crest News
Speaking of Deanna, we’re about to see her with Noah (Nick Hagelin) again, when he gives her a different perspective. Will this mean that she will try to accept her mom’s relationship?
And Ted (Keith D. Robinson) and Ashley (Jen Jacob) are in cahoots, which will undoubtedly have something to do with Shanice (Ernestine Johnson). Aren’t Ted and Shanice about to go on their very first vacation together?
Meanwhile, Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) is really trying to take Hayley (Marquita Goings, BTG’s Performer of the Month for September 2026) under her wing. She will do whatever it takes to finally get that girlfriend she wants.
There’s Jan (Jerri Tubbs), but Leslie relates to Hayley in a whole different way. Look for Leslie to get Hayley scrambling on Thursday. Meanwhile, Randy (Maurice P. Kerry) is fed up. Probably because he has no control over his own life. It’s either Joey (Jon Lindstrom) or Hayley calling the shots.
