The countdown to Beyond the Gates continues. CBS, along with Essence Magazine, released the brand-new soap’s official trailer. This is undoubtedly the biggest sneak peek of the show so far.
Enter the Gates of Fairmont Crest
The Dupree family leads the charge in this long look into life behind the gated community known as Fairmont Crest. What’s revealed in this world are lavish sets, plus amped-up drama featuring characters with Kardashian-level ambition.
The characters aren’t holding back. On the flip side, they also come together to celebrate family. They depend on each other and rely on their loved ones to have their backs.
What We Learned
Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) is operating from a place of pain. She has to grapple with her now ex-husband’s affair. The way she deals with it? Throwing coffee cups, threatening Bill (Timon Durrett) with a golf club, and slapping Hayley (Marquita Goings). But Dani’s impressive mother, Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie), gives her some much-needed advice. “Now you need to remember who you are — a Dupree woman. Find your inner strength.”

There are photo shoots and vows to “shake things up.” Attempted murder is even on the table. Meanwhile, Dani promises to “make a couple of cheaters pay for blowing up my life.” Should Bill and Hayley watch their backs? From what goes down in the video, they’ll need to watch their backs, fronts, and their sides. Because Dani’s coming for them.
However, Bill Hamilton already doesn’t seem the type to fear anything or anyone. He even resorts to letting the great Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) know that his ex-father-in-law owes him a favor.
Aside from the affair business, Dani manages to have her own fun and deliciously tells someone, “Welcome to the neighborhood.” Her tone didn’t sound so welcoming. One of the best moments from the video is when Anita and Vernon agree that “protecting the family is our priority.” Now, how far will they go to do that?
