On Beyond the Gates, Leslie’s being Leslie again when she makes her presence known at a lunch where Eva’s trying to make a good impression on Izaiah’s mom, Darlene. The spoilers also reveal that Anita coaches Dani through some insecurities. And Jacob pleads with Smitty not to go rogue. Here’s what to expect in the Tuesday, April 7 episode of BTG.

Key Takeaways

  • Leslie crashes Eva’s lunch with Izaiah’s mom, Darlene, threatening a crucial second impression.
  • Anita steps up to support Dani, coaching her through growing insecurities.
  • Jacob urges Smitty not to go rogue as the plasma ring case intensifies.

Leslie the Lunch Crasher

The first time Eva (Ambyr Michelle) met Izaiah’s mom, Darlene (Monique Mosee), the introductions were a tad icy. You see, Darlene knew all about Eva’s mom, and it was clear that Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) wasn’t her favorite person.

But Izaiah (Lami) was determined to have the two most important women in his life have another chance at a first impression. And Tuesday seems like the day.

Of course, Leslie has to make this all about herself when she crashes Eva and Izaiah’s lunch with Darlene. This could go two ways: delightful or disastrous. There’s a chance Leslie’s enthusiasm for her daughter’s relationship with Izaiah could be seen as a positive. We’re going to hope for the best and expect the worst in this situation.

June and Samantha: A Rough Patch for a Mother and Daughter

BTG’s weekly teasers and the video preview say the same thing. June (Jasmine Burke) and Samantha (Najah Jackson) are headed for a rough week. June does something that royally disappoints Samantha. And as a result, Samantha doesn’t hold back.

In the preview, she tells her bio mom, “Can you just stop thinking about yourself and just be there for your kids? Is that too much to ask?” Does Samantha have valid reasons for going off on her mom? Or is this a reaction to the pressure she’s placing on herself to succeed at school and as the ChelseaKat ambassador? Plus, the added pressure of the upcoming cotillion. What gives?

Anita and Dani: Mother Comes to the Support of Her Daughter

Lately, Anita (Tamara Tunie, BTG’s March Performer of the Month) probably feels like she is the one relying on her family’s support. And it’s not the other way around like it usually is. Well, Tuesday’s action will go a long way toward helping Dani (Karla Mosley) and giving Anita a sense of purpose at the same time.

Look for Anita to coach her daughter through her insecurities. Is this about Dani’s modeling comeback or something else?

Jaocb and Smitty: The Detective Tries to Prevent the Reporter From Doing Something Stupid

The plasma ring case continues, and the leads are slowly but surely materializing. Jacob (Jibre Hordges) and Smitty (Mike Manning) now know that Grayson’s contact is a female. And Smitty might want to take matters into his own hands to find out the person’s identity.

The teasers suggest that the detective pleads with the reporter not to go rogue. Will Smitty listen to Jacob?
