The Beyond the Gates recap for Tuesday, March 11, sees a battle between Dani and Bill as the Duprees try to prepare for Naomi’s award. Plus, Naomi and Jacob reconciled, but Jacob didn’t click with his new partner, and Eva and Leslie clashed.
What Happened On Beyond The Gates?
As Nicole’s (Daphnée Duplaix) awards gala approached, the Dupree family braced for media scrutiny, especially since Dani (Karla Mosley) was arrested recently. Vernon (Clifton Davis) and Anita (Tamara Tunie) had a plan for managing the press.
Unfortunately, Jacob (Jibre Hordges) and Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) were still at odds. Naomi struggled to forgive Jacob for arresting Dani. She felt betrayed. Jacob insisted he had only been doing his job, but Naomi wasn’t convinced.

Bill Pushes Back
Meanwhile, Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) learned about the Duprees’ upcoming interview, so he arranged his own press conference. He portrayed Dani as mentally unstable, claiming he had invited the family to his wedding to promote civility but now believed Dani was dangerous.
Reporters brought up Dani’s attempted murder charges, but Vernon and Anita deflected. When Bill implied that Dani was mentally deteriorating, she crashed the interview. Dani remained composed, refuted his claims, and insisted she was not a threat.

Jacob Doesn’t Click
Afterward, Dani told Naomi to forgive Jacob, calling him a good man. She warned her daughter not to lose Jacob over this. Naomi and Jacob eventually reconciled. He promised that he was not like Bill and would never treat her the way Bill had treated Dani. Naomi allowed Jacob to move off the couch and back to bed.
However, Jacob’s new partner, Detective Marcel Malone, immediately asserted dominance. He warned Jacob to stay out of his business. Marcel also criticized Jacob’s personal issues, cautioning him to clean up his home life so it wouldn’t interfere with work. They didn’t hit it off, and Jacob sarcastically called Marcel a “smart ass” as he left.
Leslie Has A Plan
Elsewhere, Leslie (Trisha Martin-Mann) and Eva (Ambyr Michelle) met for dinner. Eva shared details about her conversation with Ted (Maurice Johnson) when she discussed the father she never knew. Leslie told her to be careful.
Eva called out Leslie’s hypocrisy since she’d been pretty reckless at the hospital. Leslie insisted she had a plan, but she didn’t tell Eva what it was.
At The End Of The Day
As the day ended, Vernon and Anita celebrated the victory in Dani’s media battle. However, Bill obsessively monitored news about Dani, and Dani angrily dropped her phone into a gin and tonic.
