In the Tuesday, March 11 episode of Beyond the Gates, Bill went on the offensive. He set up a press conference, which happened to coincide with Nicole’s local interview about her upcoming award. Thankfully, Nicole doesn’t like the spotlight because Bill’s hatchet job press conference inspired Dani to join the interview with her more humble version of events.
Dueling Press Opportunities
Bill (Timon Durrett) should have listened to Hayley (Marquita Goings). All they needed to do was leave for their honeymoon. They looked like the bigger people for dropping the attempted murder charges against Dani (Karla Mosley). Instead, he set up a press conference and proceeded to skewer Dani’s reputation.
However, his ploy didn’t work because simultaneously, on local TV, Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix), Vernon (Clifton Davis), and Anita (Tamara Tunie) were giving their own interview to a reporter, played by guest star Nischelle Turner, who co-hosts Entertainment Tonight with Kevin Frazier.

Having said all of that, Dani took over the interview but not in her usual bombastic way. She sat down next to Nicole, and the two supported each other. Dani proceeded to take a humble, apologetic approach. She took ownership of her actions and mentioned how generous Bill and Hayley were to drop the charges.
Dani also talked about how she hurt her family and that she wasn’t a good example for her daughters. It was a successful interview for the ex-wife. Dani accomplished what she needed to accomplish, and she made Bill look stupid because he took the vindictive way out and made himself look petty and obnoxious. He thought he was getting ahead of the arrogant Duprees, but he was the one who came off as arrogant. Hopefully, he and Hayley will go and lick their wounds in beautiful Italy and give Dani some grace and space.

Later, Dani also helped her daughter realize that her husband simply did his job when he arrested her. When she got home, Naomi and Jacob made up. But what was the deal with Jacob’s new bitter and cranky partner, Marcel Malone? How long is Jacob going to last with that man?
