Was Leslie watching a reel version of Beyond the Gates? She was talking about a Millie and a Vickie, and wanting to be Millie, someone who started as a bad girl but eventually became the heroine of the show. In the Wednesday, June 11 episode, Leslie may have a chance to reach those soap goals. Meanwhile, Jacob and Kat experienced a setback in the case against Leslie Thomas. In addition, Dani helped Nicole with her mini-meltdown, and Laura may be the nicest person ever, at least when it comes to Eva.
The Heroine Wannabe
Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) says she wants to be the heroine, but she sure doesn’t act like it. She deflects, projects, and neglects. And then she uses emotional manipulation to get what she wants.
She should be freaking out that Jacob (Jibre Hordges) found the helmet and gloves in her apartment. And if we were Kat (Colby Muhammad), she needs to hire security to watch her back. But by the end of the episode, Leslie played the emotional manipulation game with Eva (Ambyr Michelle). She’s getting Eva to do her dirty work.
She’s going to see how those incriminating items made their way from her hotel room to Leslie’s bench. Meanwhile, Leslie knows Kitty Kat did it. But she wants her hands clean…for the moment anyway. She’ll get her hands dirty when she wants them to be dirty.
Yeah, Leslie’s not going to be that kind of character who achieves redemption and becomes the one everybody loves, right? She’ll have to settle for being the one everybody loves to hate for the foreseeable future.

Setback City
Meanwhile, Kat was camped out at Orphey Gene’s where Jacob caught up to his cousin-in-law. He was rightly suspicious of Kat being the one to plant the helmet and gloves at Leslie’s. But he decided to play dumb with work and send the items in for identification — he wanted to see if they matched the helmet and glove in that video footage the police have.
And while it did, things suddenly took a turn for the worse. The judge wouldn’t issue a warrant for Leslie’s DNA because this sudden materialization of the helmet and gloves is suspicious. Now Jacob, or let’s be real, Kat, has to come up with the next step. They need a way to overcome this obstacle, even though Kat is why they were in this planted evidence mess in the first place.

Mini-Meltdown
Since Leslie’s big reveal at Nicole and Ted’s anniversary party, we have only seen a glimpse here or there of Nicole’s pain and her perspective. But in Wednesday’s episode, when she realized Anita (Tamara Tunie) was in Chicago, Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) had a bit of a meltdown. She wanted her mom, and Anita was in the Windy City on Articulette business.
Instead, Dani (Karla Mosley) stepped in and took her sis back to her house where they cathartically threw coffee cups. Stuff like this is supposed to be healing, but is it? For Nicole, it seemed like it worked a little bit. But honestly, we love that she was showing us how frustrated and exasperated she was. She’s so stoic all the time, but we know she’s feeling the burn of betrayal. And it’s going to take a long time to heal.
Meanwhile, her assistant, Laura (Destiny Love), may have the biggest heart out of anyone. She engineered an excuse to get together with Eva at Nicole’s office. There, Eva realized that Laura really was trying to bring Eva and Nicole back together again. Nicole and Eva quickly became simpatico while she worked for her as an assistant. To suddenly lose that leaves a hole.
Are Nicole and Eva headed for a reconciliation? Are Laura and Eva headed towards being friends? Are you digging Madison (Kenjah) and Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) so far? Let us know your thoughts about the latest episode in the comments.
