Martin is in meltdown mode. He’s also in mess-with-him-and-find-out mode on the Monday, July 14 episode of Beyond the Gates. Kenneth has gotten too close to Tyrell and Samantha too easily. As a result, Martin decided to take matters into his own hands. Meanwhile, Chelsea and Madison deal with Allison again. This time, Chelsea’s sort of ex is more bold than ever before, and it has Madison worried.

Martin Strikes Back, But Should He?

Martin (Brandon Claybon) has had it. Kenneth (Jason Vendryes), the bigoted busboy, worked his way into his home via Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller). And he got close to Samantha (Najah Jackson) in the park. No wonder Martin punched the guy. While it’s understandable why he wanted to take control after these incidents, it doesn’t mean he should.

He stalled talking to his husband AGAIN, even as Smitty (Mike Manning) tried to give him an ultimatum. Martin didn’t listen to him. Instead, he visited an exhausted Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett), who complained about still being the Duprees’ Fixer. However, there ain’t no him without the Duprees, so he’s stuck.

While Vernon (Clifton Davis) and Bill tried to come up with a viable plan to take care of Kenneth, Martin decided to do it himself. And at the end, he called someone as he sat in a booth at Orphy Gene’s. How far is he willing to go to take care of Kenneth? Did he call Malone (Darryl W. Handy), or did he call a hitman? The congressman has to have a lot of connections in the DMV.

Allison Becomes an Issue for Chelsea and Madison at Uptown

At Uptown, Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) and Madison (Kenjah) get into it with Allison (Brianna Roberts), who’s extra persistent this time. She doesn’t want to let go of Chelsea, and she reminds her of what they had as much as she can. She’s coming off a bit stalkery, however, denies that that’s what was going on here.

She drops Chelsea’s hair clip that she’s been holding on to on Chelsea and Madison’s table. And then, when Chelsea goes to pick it up, Allison takes it back. She wanted to keep this as a memento of their time together. Allison is exaggerating what happened between her and Chelsea. The whole conversation is mighty awkward.

Finally, Chelsea has to drop the fact that she has the police on speed dial, leaving Allison to counter with, “Oh, you should. You never know who’s lurking in the shadows.”

This relationship has taken a turn. It could very well become a Lifetime movie at any moment. Once again, should Chelsea be worried about Allison? Madison is already creeped out. She asked Chelsea if she really does have the cops on speed dial.

Burning Question

Ashley (Jen Jacob) suspects Hayley (Marquita Goings) is lying about her pregnancy or something related to her pregnancy. After their conversation at Orphey Gene’s today, do you think she will pretend to be cool with Hayley and reestablish their friendship to get to the truth?
