While Nicole closed the book on her marriage, Dani and Andre decided to continue their drinking ways and made a spontaneous decision. In the Monday, September 22 episode of Beyond the Gates, an Anita Williams Dupree impersonator married them. How long do you think this marriage will last?
To Love, Cherish, Get Drunk, and Elope
Initially, Dani (Karla Mosley) and Andre (Sean Freeman) simply wanted to get a picture or a selfie at a Vegas wedding chapel. But instead, they did so much more. They ended up getting married.
A couple of signs spoke to them. First, the officiant marrying folks was an Anita Williams Dupree impersonator. So, for Dani, it was like fate struck the two of them down. Meanwhile, Andre left it up to luck, and he flipped a coin. It was heads, so the two got married.
In addition to their tipsy selves, they grabbed rings from cheap cigars, let the Anita impersonator contribute a viral dance moment, and she even sang for the two. Dani and Andre were only thinking about the moment. Their vows actually included promising “to love and to cherish through laughter and…beer (and late-night tacos).”
They were certainly not thinking about how people would react once they found out about this quickie wedding.
Post-Drunken Elopement Thoughts
This was Dani and Andre reacting to the drama from their respective lives. Andre felt rejected all over again when he found out that Ashley (Jen Jacob) had asked a “paralyzed” Derek (Ben Gavin) to marry her.
Meanwhile, Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) just had the boundaries talk with Dani. He had to let her know that, because of Hayley (Marquita Goings), the closeness they shared during Chelsea’s (RhonniRose Mantilla) abduction wasn’t going to lead to anything—not that she thought it would (but she might have hoped).
As a result, Dani and Andre turned to each other and drunkenly put their friends with benefits act in the rearview mirror. They spontaneously got married. The big question is, once they sober up, will they applaud their initiative? Or will they both feel buyer’s remorse and want take-backsies?
This was a game-changing event that will surely affect the entire Dupree family and beyond. It was also fun to see Tamara Tunie play a drag queen version of The Queen of the DMV and Fairmont Crest, Anita Williams Dupree.
