During the October 10, 2025, Beyond the Gates, Eva arranged to meet with Mona and Jan at Orphey Gene’s (it was good to see them both). Her main goal was to persuade her mother’s former friends to talk to Leslie, who was lonely and acting out. However, it was also clear that Eva wanted them to reestablish their friendship with her mom. Were Eva’s pleas successful?
The Orphy Gene’s Summit
Eva (Ambyr Michelle) called Mona (Karan Kendrick) and Jan (Jerri Tubbs) to Orphey Gene’s, hoping she could reconnect them with her mom. She told them how Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) was driving her crazy because she had too much time on her hands. She wanted them to dig deep into their hearts and forgive Leslie despite the fact that her mom used them to get her revenge on Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) and the Duprees.
But now that she has inherited the money, she is spending a great deal of time trying to get in with the Duprees. Eva felt that if she could have real friends, she wouldn’t have to try so hard to fit into a world that doesn’t want her. She told them that her mom wouldn’t listen to her, so she thought maybe they could give it a try.
Mona
Mona wanted nothing to do with Eva’s ideas of forgiveness. What Leslie especially did to her cut too deeply and even tarnished her reputation (in her mind).
While Mona can perhaps forgive Eva, she won’t forget that she was also part of it. And she certainly won’t speak to Leslie and reestablish their friendship. She got up and left the restaurant.
Jan
Jan, on the other hand, liked what Eva had to say about Leslie taking care of Peaches (Arle Michel), and it showed her that maybe Leslie wasn’t all bad. That there was some goodness in her heart, and she agreed to talk to Leslie.
When Leslie sat down for their one-on-one, her walls were up, but Jan explained to her that this was what Eva wanted. And that she didn’t know what to make of the two sides of Leslie Thomas. Meanwhile, Leslie showed some vulnerability in talking about how lonely she has been lately. Ultimately, Jan decided that they could be friends. And she immediately asked her what it was like to be an heiress.
Was Jan’s Friendship Earned?
Everybody needs allies and deserves friends. And no one should be an island. But Leslie does have Eva, who chooses her mom time and again over everybody else. However, Eva and Leslie touched on how they had changed, and they were now living different lives.
Yes, their lives are different — Eva now has her dad. She has a really good job that pays well. And Leslie has come into a lot of money. But they’re not truly living different lives, are they? Leslie is already making things difficult for her new Fairmont Crest neighbors, as construction is underway at her house.
And wait until Jan and Mona find out that Leslie jumped into bed with a drunk Ted (Keith D. Robinson) and then threw it in Nicole’s face. That wasn’t talked about at all. We were hoping somehow they would find that out.
What did you think of Eva’s Summit? How about jealous Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) and insecure Hayley (Marquita Goings)? And speaking of having too much time on her hands, Leslie paid a visit to Tomas (Alex Alegria). And we finally got some more of Jacob (Jibre Hordges) and Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) discussing her pregnancy and whether they should have a baby. What do you think they’ll decide? Let us know in the comments.
