Dani committed to creating an event fit for her baby girl’s final fashion show as a model. Meanwhile, Chelsea honored and respected her mom in a big, big way. Plus, she educated Samantha and threw her into the deep end of the pool, letting her walk the runway in a designer outfit. The torch was passed in the Tuesday, April 8 episode of Beyond the Gates.
Passing the Torch
Dani
The charity event was difficult for Dani (Karla Mosley). She wanted to give Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) a proper way to end her modeling career. At the same time, she lamented the end of an era in which she managed her daughter, who became a top model. She lived the life Dani only got to live for two years because she married Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett).
In the end, she came through for Chelsea. The fashion show was a success, raising a lot of money. She emceed the heck out of it in a gorgeous dress. And she made sure to let everybody know how proud she was of Chelsea, who may be leaving modeling but is striking out on her own and pursuing a career as a designer.
Dani passed the torch by setting an example for Chelsea to follow. Now, she’s setting her daughter free to live the life that she wants to live, which includes designing purses and, ultimately, clothing. However, Dani will need a distraction, and we’re not talking about drinking.

Chelsea and Samantha
After Chelsea killed it at the fashion show, she stood up there with the mic and gave a wonderful speech about her mother. She told the room and the live-stream audience how integral her mom was to her career and to her personally. And she said that she couldn’t do what she was about to do without having the love and counsel of her brilliant mom.
While Dani passed the torch to her daughter, Chelsea also passed the torch to someone else when she enlisted Martin (Brandon Claybon) and Smitty’s daughter, Samantha (Najah Jackson), to be her assistant for the day. Before the show, she and Kat (Colby Muhammad) let Samantha try on one of the designer dresses, and Chelsea gave her tips on how to walk the runway.
Later, Chelsea included Samantha in the charity fashion show, and you could see how Samantha rose to the occasion. Martin and Smitty (Mike Manning) are going to have a hard time reining the new model’s desire to make fashion her life at such a young age.

However, now that Samantha has gotten a taste of the limelight, she may want to hardcore pursue modeling, and it will undoubtedly cause friction between Samantha and her dads and, from the looks of the must-watch moments for the week, Chelsea and Dani, too.
