In the Monday, June 9 episode of Beyond the Gates, Bill acted his stubborn self in the hospital. Dani flirted with Andre while Chelsea pursued the hot neurologist taking care of Bill—the same mystery woman she flirted with at Uptown. The rest of the episode dealt with Leslie’s revenge fallout, including Eva facing Nicole, Leslie turning to Tomas, and Kat determined to bring Leslie down.
Apologies, Eva’s Had a Few
Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) showed up at Eva’s room with her impenetrable walls up. She wanted to know what Eva (Ambyr Michelle) was doing anywhere near Laura (Destiny Love). The good doctor made it clear that Eva needs to rethink her actions if she feels using Laura is the way to get back in good graces with her.
It’s funny because Nicole is trying her hardest not to let Eva back in. But it’s so against her nature. She knows that much of what Eva is today is because Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) is her mother. And as long as Leslie is her mother, Nicole can’t trust her. If only she knew how much Eva is trying to protect her mother. It’s because of her that Jacob (Jibre Hordges) and the cops came up with nothing when they had a warrant to search her apartment.
Before the two parted ways, Eva had the opportunity to say a lot. She wished that Ted (Keith D. Robinson) and Nicole could be together. She said that was the only way she could forgive what she did. When Eva apologized for what she did, Nicole accepted it. She must have seen her sincerity. Ambyr Michelle did a good job conveying the relief on Eva’s face from hearing Nicole say that she accepted the apology.
The thing is, Nicole is hard to read. Did she simply accept it so Eva can move on from this? Or was her apology sincere?

Kat’s Creative Plan
Kat (Colby Muhammad) has Leslie’s incriminating helmet and gloves. She breaks into Leslie’s apartment and hides the evidence in a different place from where it originally was. Then, she goes to Orphey Gene’s and after a brief run-in with Leslie, Kat tells Jacob a whopper of a lie. It’s also a perfect excuse for why the cops didn’t find the evidence when they showed up at her door with a warrant.
Kat tells Jacob that Leslie must have known the cops were coming, so she hid the helmet and gloves and then brought them back into her apartment when she thought the coast was clear. This sounds like something an ego-driven Leslie would do, but we know what really happened. While Jacob isn’t on board with Kat’s theories most of the time, that’s not the case here.

The problem is, Eva knows those damning items are gone from under her room’s bed. So will Eva and Leslie find the helmet and gloves before Jacob and can?
