After the Wednesday, June 18 episode of Beyond the Gates, the romance in question could be one of two couples: Dani/Andre and Chelsea/Madison.
Faster Than a Speeding Bullet
Vernon (Clifton Davis) was right. How did we get to the meet the family phase of Madison (Kenjah) and Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) already? It feels like these two just met at Uptown. And then sparked at the hospital when Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) had his mini-stroke.
Now Dani (Karla Mosley) is setting up a meet-the-grandpa moment at the Dupree mansion. And Madison and Chelsea’s feelings seem to be burning bright.
Sometimes when things burn bright they tend to extinguish quickly. It just begs the question of whether Madison and Chelsea’s connection is genuine and capable of lasting. Who knows. Look what happened to Derek (Ben Gavin) and Ashley (Jen Jacob).
They’re together for years and when they try cohabitation, they end up crashing and burning. Then the duo gets back to a level playing field only to crash and burn again after Derek proposed.
Madison and Chelsea are moving so quickly it’s dizzying. We only know that she’s a doctor and her path to becoming a neurologist. What else is she about? Who’s her family? What’s she hiding? She has to be hiding something, right?

Sissy Not Happy
Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) is dealing with her own bursts of emotions. First, she awkwardly handles learning that Chelsea’s fluid and Madison is into women. After Vernon sends his two daughters away so he can have a serious conversation with his granddaughter and her girlfriend, Nicole expresses how she’s sick of secrets.
This prompts Dani to come clean about her and Andre (Sean Freeman). And Nicole — for her — freaks out about Dani and Andre sleeping together. She thinks Dani should find someone more age appropriate to have sex with and, needless to say, Dani is shocked. She thought that Nicole would naturally have her back with her moving on from Bill.
So, how will Dani progress from here? Will she try and ease back on into the private shell she and Andre had been living in up until recently? Dani seems to want to understand why Nicole is balking at her romantic development. There has to be more than what Nicole is saying right now.

Ted and Andre — Are They Being Delusional?
And is this what prompts Nicole to show up at Ted’s with papers (maybe separation or divorce) to sign? Nicole might be feeling out of control, which is clearly not a place she likes to inhabit. She might do something that will help her feel more in control of her life.
Meanwhile, Ted (Keith D. Robinson) and Andre conclude that they hope someday they’ll be able to double date with the Dupree sisters. Little do they know that the siblings are NOT on the same page. It might be a matter of giving Nicole some space to work through this latest bump in the road. And it might be a matter of Ted needing to come up with a trick that doesn’t involve sending flowers.
