While most people would consider bringing a gun to a wedding to be a bad idea, for Beyond the Gates’ Dani, it’s all in a day’s work. Getting dumped by her husband for a younger woman was pretty bad, but when Bill and Hayley held their wedding at the Fairmont Crest Country Club, that felt like a gut punch to Dani and her family. So, she whipped out a gun during the ceremony and demanded an apology from Hayley, naturally. Amidst all the twists and turns, Karla Mosley revealed her take on Dani and her strong reactions.
She Doesn’t Simmer Down
Michael Fairman TV spoke with some of BTG’s key actresses, including Mosley, who revealed that Dani would be ratcheting the violence down a bit. “She doesn’t go turn it to Rambo and enlist in the army or something,” she stated, adding, “That part does simmer down, but she does not simmer down. Spoiler alert: she doesn’t take it well.”
Mosley explained that initially, the show had some technical issues and even had to have a lady come out of retirement for a couple of months to teach the green cameramen how to shoot a soap opera. But she marveled at how quickly everything came together, remarking, “I feel like we had material from 17 episodes or something in one week. It was bonkers. We almost all lost our minds.” On the show, it also seemed as if Dani lost her mind for real.

She’s Had To Make Compromises
The actress dove into Dani’s mindset, explaining, “She’s not just insane, and she’s not just a villain. She’s a mom, and she’s very much a part of the family. She makes mistake,s and she makes them loudly.” Fortunately, Dani didn’t kill or injure anyone, especially since the whole scenario was accidentally streamed live on the internet because of her daughter, Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla).
When Dani’s dad Vernon (Clifton Davis) called for a press conference to spin the story, which had gone viral, Dani decided to join in and face the press. She was reluctant at first, and Mosley explained that part of Dani’s issue was that she’s always giving in to her parents’ demands. “I think she’s been asked many times in her life to make compromises, to go along, to get along with her family,” she stated, adding, “Dani was probably the one to show up hungover to the church service at the National Cathedral.” (Learn more about the Dupree family.)
