Greg Vaughan is adding another soap credit to his resume. He’s returning to CBS to join the cast of Beyond the Gates. No word on who he’ll be playing just yet. But fans are excited that the actor has a new home.

Key Takeaways

  • Greg Vaughan officially joins the cast of Beyond the Gates in a mystery role.
  • Fans are already speculating who his character will connect with — Nicole, Dani, or Shanice.
  • Previous soap credits include The Young and the Restless, General Hospital, and DOOL.

Welcome to Fairmont Crest

Soap Opera Network was the first to report the big casting move. However, Michele Val Jean, creator and head writer of BTG, has been teasing the exciting addition since the summer. In an interview with Deadline, the showrunner, along with fellow executive producer Sheila Ducksworth, predicted that the soap world would be thrilled once they found out the news.

No word yet on who Vaughan will be playing, but fans are already debating who his love interest will be. While many hope his character will connect with Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix), just as many hope he’ll interact with Dani (Karla Mosley) and Shanice (Ernestine Johnson) as well.

With the Daytime Emmy winner at BTG, this means he won’t be returning to Days of Our Lives in the future. However, he will soon be seen in Salem when Eric returns to help the show celebrate its 60th anniversary.

This signals Vaughan’s return to CBS Daytime. From 2002 to 2003, he played Diego Gutierrez on The Young and the Restless. His other daytime credits include General Hospital and, of course, DOOL, where he played Eric Brady off and on since 2012.

The Texan’s primetime credits include Charmed, Beverly Hills, 90210, and the Oprah Winfrey Network’s Queen Sugar, where he played Calvin, a married police officer who ultimately became involved with writer and activist Nova Bordelon, played by Rutina Wesley.

We will keep you posted once we know more about who Vaughan is playing on BTG. What do you think of this news? Let us know in the comments.
