In the Wednesday, May 14 episode of Beyond the Gates, Dani engineered a make-up session between Nicole and Andre before engineering a make-out session between her and Andre afterwards. To Kat’s disgust, Martin invited Eva over to his house for a night of pizza and getting to know each other. Naomi and Jacob realized that June was seriously sick. Speaking of which, Bill’s health issues continued to plague him. And Anita and Vernon talked about the potential Articulettes reunion.
The Reunion May Not Be On After All
Anita (Tamara Tunie) and Vernon (Clifton Davis) sat at the piano and had themselves a sing. Turned out Vernon isn’t the greatest singer, unlike the rest of his family (although we know Clifton Davis is a talented singer and songwriter!).
But the husband and wife ultimately talked about Anita’s fears over staging an Articulettes reunion. Apparently, we need to know how much of a diva Anita was back in the day. She said she cut the other girls loose, and she wasn’t proud of her behavior. It isn’t who she is now. But what was she like back then? We’re going to need to see flashbacks.
When Anita tried to call Sharon, presumably one of the Articulettes, the woman hung up on her. Ouch. So the 30/40 years that have passed since Anita went solo clearly aren’t enough to get over what went down. Got it. This reunion needs to happen by hook or by crook. It’ll give us more of a sense of who Anita was and how far she has come.

What’s Wrong with Bill
Okay, it has been weeks since Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) started exhibiting these worrisome symptoms. He said he would book an appointment with his doctor. Has he yet? Or does he know and he isn’t telling anyone? Because so far he’s hiding his situation from Hayley (Marquita Goings). Instead, the two had an impromptu honeymoon right there in the office.
When will we discover what’s wrong with him? And will overworking himself in the wake of Mike’s (Pierce Lackey) departure hurt his health?

The Dani Factor
Meanwhile, Bill also managed to compare Hayley and Dani (Karla Mosley), even though nobody was asking. Apparently, it’s his love language with Hayley. He has to put down Dani in order to build up Hayley.
While those two practiced love in the afternoon at the office, Dani did the same at home with Andre (Sean Freeman). She mentioned using denial tactics with Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) when her sister picked up on something with her and Andre. But, honestly, Dani is in denial regarding her relationship with Andre. It has grown into something real.

The Item
It’s no shock that Naomi’s client, June (Jasmine Burke), is sick and that Jacob (Jibre Hordges) and Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) had to take the unhoused woman to the hospital. She’s not taking care of herself, and sleeping outside under the overpass didn’t do her any favors.
When they left the diner, an item was on the booth, and thankfully, Naomi picked it up. What was that item, and does it tie June to anybody currently on the canvas?
