Colby Muhammad is from Richmond, West Virginia, by way of New Jersey. However, she’s now a Southern California-based actor, singer, and dancer.
Her educational achievements include earning a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Howard University. In fact, she graduated cum laude from the HBCU titan. Later, she received her Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of San Diego.

The daytime TV newbie is a pro when it comes to the stage. She once played Juliet in a production of Romeo and Juliet. And was in the cast of a new play called Bunny, Bunny. But one of her biggest gigs was being part of a touring production of the Broadway Tony-nominated comedy Jaja’s African Hair Braiding.

Muhammad may be based in SoCal, but she’ll be filming in Atlanta for her Beyond the Gates gig. In the groundbreaking new daytime drama, the actress plays Katherine “Kat” Richardson. She is being called Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson and Ted Richardson’s miracle baby. She lives in her parents’ guest house and, needless to say, they have indulged her all her life. This makes her spoiled, entitled, and, unfortunately, dismissive of those she considers beneath her.
Kat is also confident and secure and has never doubted herself or her privileged position in the world. She doesn’t share well with others but doesn’t know that the day she is forced to share may be fast approaching.
