Karen Huger is leaving The Real Housewives of Potomac for Fairmont Crest. Beyond the Gates is set to premiere later this month on CBS. The groundbreaking new soap is about an affluent Black family who reigns supreme in the gated community.
Huger’s Appearance
Last month, reports came that Huger would guest star on the show. CBS will debut its first-ever daytime show centered around a Black family, the first for the network in 35 years. Huger was featured in the second trailer for the drama series.
According to Soap Opera Network, there are a few details about Huger’s role in the soap opera. It’s unclear whether she will play herself or an original character. Huger’s appearance already has soap and reality TV fans alike buzzing. Her iconic voice booms, “Welcome to Fairmonth Crest,” as she snaps her fingers at Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings). In another scene, Hayley was slapped across the face by Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley).
Hayley is the talk of the town. She’s a former mistress who’s now engaged to Bill Hamilton (Tim Durrett), Dani’s ex-husband. Huber is said to bring some drama to the series as well. Hopefully, more details will be revealed leading up to the premiere. For now, check out the video preview that centers around the Duprees.
Leaving Potomac Behind?
Huger could be making the transition from reality TV to soap operas. Rumors have been swirling about a potential exit from the show, reports Reality Tea. Huger had to prove herself on Season 9. She tried to remain calm amid her legal drama. Huger was found guilty of driving under the influence. As a result, Huger skipped the RHOP Season 9 reunion.
She entered rehab during that time. Most of her co-stars are holding out hope for Huger’s return. But RHOP stars rarely return to the show after skipping out on a reunion. But since Huger’s situation is unique, Bravo could allow her to return. Huger is also certain to deliver the drama on the new soap.
Beyond the Gates will premiere on CBS on Monday, February 24, at 2:00 p.m. EST. New episodes will be available to stream the following day on Paramount+.
