Healing His Broken Heart
Derek (Ben Gavin) and Ashley (Jen Jacob) are one of the many BTG couples who receive lots of attention. Recently, they took a big step in their relationship by moving in together. However, they’re finding their new living situation to be stressful. With the couple fighting, Ashley is being comforted by Andre (Sean Freeman), who has a crush on the nurse.
Although Ashley previously turned down Andre’s advances, she could find herself giving in to temptation. Derek has always been suspicious about Andre, and if he catches Ashley with Andre, it’ll confirm his worst fears.
With Ashley dumping him for Andre, Derek will be left to mend a broken heart. And there’s plenty of women who’d love to help him over his heartache.
Kat (Colby Muhammad) is one possibility. Although Kat is dating Tomas (Alex Alegria), the young lawyer is proving he can’t be trusted. Tomas has secretly been flirting with Eva (Ambyr Michelle) and could end up breaking Kat’s heart. With Derek and Kat both dealing with broken relationships, they could find themselves forming a bond. However, their budding romance will create drama since Kat is Andre’s cousin.
Speaking of Eva, she’s someone who could possibly be Derek’s love interest. She’s become the town pariah since Ted (Keith D. Robinson) and Leslie’s (Trisha Mann-Grant) affair scandal. Eva could use a friend, and Derek is a good guy who could help Eva get her life back on track.
If BTG wants to go with drama, they could have Derek steal his best friend Jacob’s (Jibre Hordges) wife Naomi (Arielle Prepetit). Jacob and Naomi will be involved in Ashley and Derek’s breakup drama. Naomi offering her support to Derek could spark an emotional affair, leading to problems for her marriage and her friendship.
