Beyond the Gates has only been on air for a year, but during that time, it’s become crystal clear who the ride-or-die pals are in Fairmont Crest.

Key Takeaways

  • The unbreakable bonds of Fairmont Crest.
  • Vernon and Anita set the best example for the rest.
  • Not all ride-or-die friendships are platonic.

Anita and Vernon

Let’s be honest, there is no relationship like the one between Vernon (Clifton Davis) and Anita (Tamara Tunie). These two are so much more than husband and wife.

Anita and Vernon are the perfect example of ride-or-die friends. They are friends just as much as they are a couple, and it shines through in everything they do for each other.

No one person is leading the pack either. Vernon and Anita take turns being the person their significant other needs in the good times and bads. The rest of Fairmont Crest could learn a thing or two from them, and many have.

Dani and Pamela

Pamela (Cady McClain) and Dani (Karla Mosley) are the epitome of ride-or-die friends. These two aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty to protect each other.

They will drop everything and anyone if the other one calls without asking questions. A true testament of friendship is going into business together. Dani and Pamela are passing that test with flying colors, as their modeling agency is thriving.

While BTG has showcased more of Pamela being the shoulder to lean on for Dani, their conversations make it crystal clear that this friendship is a two-way street.

Nicole and Vanessa

One of the most honest and best friendships on BTG is Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) and Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix). They support each other through thick and thin, but that doesn’t mean they unquestioningly agree with each other.

In fact, Nicole has issues with Vanessa’s new romance with Joey (Jon Lindstrom). Even though the two pals fought over this, Nicole continues to stand by Vanessa despite reservations about the romance.

Vanessa and Nicole have had each other’s backs a lot this year, including through her divorce from Ted (Keith D. Robinson), Doug’s (Jason Graham) death, and Anita’s breast cancer, to name a few. Nothing could ever keep Nicole and Vanessa from being each other’s ride or die.

Kat and Chelsea

They may be cousins, but the bond between Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) and Kat (Colby Muhammad, who talks about the reason why she’s an actor) goes deeper than that. When Chelsea was kidnapped, Kat was adamant about being in the action to find her, and that fierce protectiveness goes both ways.

Kat’s determination not to get tested for the BRCA gene had Chelsea acting as the voice of reason, stern yet allowing Kat to have her feelings. Yes, there’s something special about these two cousin besties, who can be there for each other like no one else they know.

Like Dani and Pamela, Chelsea and Kat also went into business together, launching ChelseaKat handbags. Even as business partners, this ride-or-die friendship hasn’t been derailed, and all signs point to nothing coming between them.

Naomi, Ashley, Derek, and Jacob

This group of friends isn’t a foursome any longer. However, the bond they created is far from broken, both as a foursome and as twosomes.

Ashley (Jen Jacob) proved once again why she will always have Naomi’s (Arielle Prepetit) back. The nurse is the only one who knows Naomi tested positive for the BRCA gene, and she’s keeping it to herself, while being the shoulder Naomi needs to lean on.

Naomi did the same thing when Ashley was left broken-hearted following Derek’s (Ben Gavin) betrayal, when he lied about being paralyzed. The lawyer has also been her friends’ champion as Ashley moves on with hunky lab tech Grayson (Jordi Vilasuso).

We can’t speak of Ashley and Naomi’s friendship without mentioning Derek and Jacob (Jibre Hordges). Those two men are the best of buds, despite everything that went down with Derek and Ashley.

Honorable Mention

Another honorable mention is Andre (Sean Freeman) and Ted. They also prove that deep friendship can come from a familial bond. Ted has been there for Andre since his parents died and is the one person Andre turns to in his time of need.
