Veteran General Hospital fans recall that Jennifer Smith, Luke’s ex-fiance, was once played by Roseanne Barr! Now that the actress’ self-named sitcom is back on the air, might ABC do some synergy and ask her to reprise the role?

Roseanne was the second actress to play the part of mobster Frank Smith’s daughter Jennifer, the role originated by actress Lisa Marie.

Roseanne was at the height of her popularity when she and then husband Tom Arnold appeared on GH in 1994 as Jennifer and her husband Billy “Baggs Boggs.

In turn, Anthony Geary (ex-Luke) and Genie Francis, currently on recurring status as Laura, guested on Roseanne as Luke and Laura, also in 1994.

While it’s possible GH could invite Roseanne back to the show to reprise Jennifer there may not be much point as both Luke and Laura are off the canvas right now. But it could happen especially if Geary and/or Francis also return to Port Charles.

But, with her popularity soaring once again, you never know what the network might decide to do.

Other actresses in addition to Marie and Barr, who played the part are Sally Struthers (All in the Family) and, most recently, Holly Gagnier (ex-Ivy, Days of Our Lives.)
