Hilary wants to be a mom and she’s on good terms these days with Devon, her ex-husband on The Young and the Restless (YR). The math is pretty easy on this one — he’s the most likely candidate to father her child.
If Devon (Bryton James) ends up being the father of the baby Hilary (Mishael Morgan) ends up having, will he make a good hands-on dad? Soap Hub posed this question to Y&R fans. Read on for the results.
Father Of The Year
The majority of you, 80%, think Devon would make a good father. He is certainly in a place to provide financially for his child. But there’s more to life than money (but make no mistake, money helps — a lot!).
Devon knows what it’s like to grow up without a mother and father. He was put in the foster care system where Dru (Victoria Rowell) found him, which led to Neil (Kristoff St. John) and Dru adopting him. Devon knows better than anyone the importance of having a dad.
Pregnant Pause
The rest of you, 20%, voted that Devon should not become a dad right now. He has to get his business under control following the debacle of Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) “appropriating” lyrics from Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) diary. Plus, Devon has to know that his life with Hilary was tumultuous and unpredictable.
Is he really ready to have a relationship with her in order to be a father to her child?
A Shocking Twist
Y&R is known for shocking paternity twists. Diane (then Alex Donnelley) thought she was taking Victor’s (Eric Braeden) specimen to help get pregnant, but it was really Jack’s (Peter Bergman).
Ashley (Eileen Davidson) wanted to keep Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) paternity a secret, but her daughter found out and was actually the one to tell Victor he was her dad! So we’re guessing that Y&R has a twist of fate up its sleeve that will lead to Hilary carrying a child. Stay tuned!
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
