It was a shocker on The Young and the Restless when Amanda blew into town and announced that Devon was never supposed to inherit Kay’s money — half her estate was always supposed to go to Cane.
The Young and the Restless Poll Results
Hm… Devon (Bryton James) is Kay’s (Jeanne Cooper) biological grandson, even though Kay raised neither him, nor his father, Tucker (Stephan Nichols), and they were all more or less strangers to each other. (Plus, Devon’s adoptive dad, Neil, would have made sure Devon wasn’t exactly indigent.)
On the other hand, Cane (Daniel Goddard) deliberately lied in order to pass himself off as the child Jill (Jess Walton) gave birth to and Kay drunkenly stole and sold on the black market.
He turned out to be lying — but in cahoots with the real Phillip, who’d let his family believe he was dead for twenty years.
Wow, what a crappy bunch of people all around. Still, should Cane take his windfall and go with the wind? How almost 10,000 fans voted:
Undeserved
No, 90% of you are putting your collective foot down. Cane may have cleaned up his act since he first came to town, but he doesn’t deserve Kay’s money. He’s doing fine on his own, and you know he wouldn’t be nearly as generous with it as Devon. He’s a pretender to the throne. Do the right thing, young man, and step aside. It’s good karma.
Run For the Border
Finders, keepers, 10% of The Young and the Restless fans are shrugging blithely. If Amanda (Mishael Morgan) says the money is Cane’s, he should accept it… graciously. Cane can be as philanthropic as Devon. He’s got that charity helping ex-cons get back on their feet. Bet they could use a nice generous donation.
And when he shows what a mensch he is, Lily (Christel Khalil) is bound to take him back, no? The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
