Elena may be celebrating her new and rewarding career at Genoa City Memorial but actress Brytni Sarpy has another (and less bloody) reason to be festive.
That’s because she was born on September 21, 1987, in California, which means that this talented performer is turning 32 years this weekend! Sarpy first became interested in acting after landing the part of a witch in her high school’s production of Macbeth.
After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts, Sarpy began to audition for roles on television and in film in earnest. To tide her over — and pay those all-important bills, she took jobs as a bartender and personal trainer. She first appeared in front of a camera when she posed for athletic publications.
Other modeling jobs soon presented themselves as well as opportunities to perform in nationally aired commercials. She appeared in projects for AT&T, New Balance, and Nike. In 2010, she made a brief appearance in the film You Again which starred Jamie Lee Curtis and Betty White.
Sarpy auditioned for roles on both Days of Our Lives and General Hospital. For GH she tested for Taylor DuBois and Jordan Ashford but she was deemed too old to play the former and much too young to play the latter.
In 2015, Sarpy was hired to play the part of Valerie Spencer on GH but despite being revealed to be the niece of legendary character Luke Spencer, the role proved negligible and Valerie was rarely seen following her first year on the series.
She departed in the role and transitioned onto another daytime drama this time joining the cast of CBS’ The Young and the Restless as Elena Dawson. Sarpy made her debut in February of 2019.
Soap Hub would like to wish Brytni Sarpy a very happy birthday and you can too by clicking on the Twitter link below. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
