Kate Linder, beloved veteran of The Young and The Restless, is reminding everyone how important it is to give to others during the holiday season.
Y&R’s Esther Valentine, the role Linder’s played since 1982, serves guests when they come to the Chancellor mansion. But recently, it was the actress’s turn to donate her time and give back, as a server during a meal that was provided to homeless at the Los Angeles mission in honor of Thanksgiving.
Linder is active in many charitable endeavors including the Make-a-Wish Foundation. She’s both the national spokesperson for the ALS Association and March of Dimes Canada’s Conductive Education Program. Also, she has lent her efforts to TV Cares, ATAS’ AIDS fundraising and awareness organization.
On Thursday, April 10, Linder was honored with a star along the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Los Angeles Mission was founded in 1936. It was a non-profit, privately supported organization serving homeless and disadvantaged people in L.A. It is one of the country’s biggest providers to the homeless.
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
