There seems to be a breakdown in communication over at The Young and the Restless. While the show’s top executive says an exiting actress is still a big part of the show, the performer went on the record to let viewers know her show status is indeed inactive. What’s going on?
Mal Young, Y&R’s head writer and executive producer, recently indicated in a published interview that Eileen Davidson’s imminent exit as Ashley wasn’t going to be for very long.
Young said Davidson is just taking a break and that she’s still a big part of the show.
He explained she’ll be in and out for a while and then come back for a big, new storyline.
Davidson, however, begs to differ and doesn’t exactly share Young’s assertion as to what her status with the show is.
The Emmy-winning actress tweeted that she has indeed left Y&R as of last week, adding that she is not taking a ‘break’ from Y&R.
She did say that she would be “open to coming back for a party or something possibly down the line” but not a big story.
