Mia and Arturo are on their way out but that doesn’t mean the Rosales clan is getting smaller on The Young and the Restless. Casting news has come out that a familiar face from the world of daytime and primetime is joining the Rosales family!
According to, EW.com, Eva LaRue (ex-Maria, All My Children) has been cast as family matriarch Celeste Rosales.
The Entertainment Weekly story says that Celeste “shares a complex relationship with her children, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle).”
The Emmy-nominated actress will start taping next week and her YR premiere is Wednesday, June 26. LaRue rose to daytime fame as Maria Santos on All My Children in the 1990s.
This isn’t LaRue’s first time on the YR stage. Last year, Peter Barton (ex-Scott) shared with Soap Hub that LaRue was one of the actresses who screen-tested for the role of Sheila Carter, which went to Kimberlin Brown.
It’s also not LaRue’s first CBS series. For years, she played Natalia Boa Vista on the long-running procedural series CSI: Miami.
Soap Hub sends its congratulations to LaRue and welcomes her back to daytime! We can’t wait to meet Celeste and find out what she’s all about!
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
