We know it’s only been a few months since her last appearance, but Jess Walton has already breathed new life into The Young and the Restless.
She quickly made us realize how much better things are when she’s there. Motivations sharpen, actors lift their game even higher, and the verbal volleys are flying at record speed. Can’t she stay forever?
Mama Bear
Today alone, we got to enjoy some real fun zingers. First, Jill (Jess Walton) tossed water in a hung-over Billy’s face to wake him up. She let him overhear her phone call with Cane (Daniel Goddard) saying, “at least one of you is doing his job,” as she then playfully smacked Billy’s shoulder. She also went head-to-head with Jack (Peter Bergman), which is always electric!
Teamwork
Jill’s taken the two young men she loves (who hate each other) and stuck them together as co-CEOs of Brash & Sassy, insuring plenty of volatile moments to anticipate! She stepped foot back in town and immediately learned the Genoa City’s biggest secret and set about doing whatever it takes to protect her son Billy from Phyllis (Gina Tognoni). This lead to today’s tirade.
Too Close for Comfort
Jill was livid that Cane made a deal to rent space from Jabot – meaning he and Billy would be working in the same building as Phyllis. Jill told Phyllis to stay away from her son and this wasn’t going to help. She pulled out all the stops – Jabot is their competition; Jack might spy from upstairs or worse – judge his little brother. “I’m sure you can find another tenant, maybe a taco stand,” teased Jill in her crusade to talk Billy into killing the deal.
Too Late
But her words fell on deaf ears as Billy approved the lease. When he agreed, Jill looked defeated. Afterward, Billy received a phone call. He argued on the phone with Victoria, a fact duly noted by Jill.

And, soon we would know why. By the end of the episode, Jill gave an impassioned plea to Victoria to come back to Brash & Sassy, a company she helped create. It’s a safe bet Jill is hoping proximity with Billy will reignite sparks between the exes. She’s playing with fire, and we are loving it.
