On The Bold and the Beautiful, Steffy continued to give Thomas the hard sell, ordering him to pack up and take Douglas to Paris…without Hope. Also in the March 26 episode, Hope faced Ridge who had a lot of questions and accusations for her. He defended his son while Brooke defended her daughter. It looks like Hope and Thomas’s relationship isn’t going to survive this round. What other relationships will serve as collateral damage to the Hope and Steffy rivalry?
Family Dysfunction and Destruction Ahead
Hope (Annika Noelle) rejecting Thomas’s (Matthew Atkinson) proposal — again — didn’t simply reignite the Hope and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) rivalry. It’s going to do so much more. When these two fully go off on each other, everybody in their wake will need to watch out. The amount of manipulation, defensive tactics, erratic rationalizations, and hypocritical projections that went down in this episode alone was just the beginning. These loaded words and toxic conversations are damaging and very threatening to relationships.
What relationships (romantic, familial, friendship) will stand when the dust settles? We think the following are all on shaky ground.

- Hope and Steffy — Obviously, their detente, chilled truce, or whatever you want to call it – is over. Their rivalry is back. (Take a look at the 3/26 episode via a photo recap)
- Hope and Thomas — They may say a lot to each other, but we’re convinced their communication is horrible. Thomas told Steffy he wanted the engagement but didn’t need to get married right away, although if Hope wanted to get married tomorrow he would do that. Meanwhile, Hope repeatedly told him she wasn’t ready. Maybe they wouldn’t be in this mess if he broached the engagement subject differently. Regardless, this is how it happened and their relationship is in shambles. And if they want to be together, they will have to fight for it. Scratch that, Hope may have to fight for it. (Remember, Ashleigh Brewer is returning to B&B)
- Brooke and Ridge — Already Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) is busy defending Thomas and his pain while Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) suddenly wants whatever Hope wants. Ridge was plenty loud with the accusations and the questions towards Hope while Brooke was in the office. Meanwhile, when Steffy and Brooke had words, Ridge let his daughter handle herself. He didn’t come to Brooke’s defense, which was interesting. Can Brooke and Ridge’s relationship withstand these painful differences?
- Steffy and Finn — Their problems stem from the Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) factor, but this rivalry can cause immediate damage to this relationship because 1) Finn (Tanner Novlan) and Hope have a friendship. Steffy might not understand that now that she and Hope are firmly in icy territory. 2) Finn doesn’t even know about the kisses Steffy and Liam (Scott Clifton) shared, which directly resulted from Liam reacting to Hope and Thomas’s romantic Italian kiss that started this all. 3) Of course, Liam is always waiting in the wings, hoping her marriage to Finn will go down in flames.
- Douglas and Hope — If Thomas truly takes Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri) to Paris, Hope’s relationship with Douglas changes instantly. She’ll have to settle for phone calls, video chats, and texts. That will take some adapting since she’s been integral in caring for him these last few years.
