One of the longest running feuds in soaps is the one between Sheila Carter, played by Kimberlin Brown, and Lauren Fenmore Baldwin, played by Tracey Bregman. Soap Hub caught up with Bold and the Beautiful‘s Brown at the Daytime Emmys to get her thoughts on the possibility of Sheila going back to Young and the Restless where her reign of terror began.

Savvy soap fans know that the mere mention of a character, who may not be on a show’s current canvas, can often be a sign that that character is going to pop up again. Does Brown think that Sheila might show up again sometime soon on Y&R given the Sheila mentions on recent episodes?
“You know, I wasn’t aware of that,” Brown says of Sheila being mentioned on Y&R. “All I can say is ‘never say never. That would be a lot of fun. A lot of fun.”
Brown says she’s happy that B&B reversed its decision when it killed Sheila off earlier this year only to reveal later that it was her doppelganger Sugar whom Steffy killed in self-defense.

Viewers immediately were skeptical that Sheila had finally met her maker. When Brown’s exited before, the show has celebrated her on set with a cake ceremony. “They actually talked about [doing] that, but I was in Montana,” Brown says.
Upon learning that Sheila still had some schemes to play, Brown says, “I was thrilled. I was very happy. I had kind of resigned myself to that fact that I’d had over 35 years [as Sheila]. I was very lucky. I went to Montanna. I bought a ranch [and was] building a home.”
Make no mistake — “Sheila” dying during a violent battle with nemesis Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) was certainly dramatic. But wouldn’t a final-this-time-we-really-mean-it swan song for Sheila and Kimberlin Brown have been even grander?
“I would hope it would be big,” the actress concurs.
