Several weeks ago, an incident led to The Young and the Restless star Kristoff St. John spending time in a psychiatric facility.
The incident was first reported by TMZ as an attempted suicide in which he texted photos of himself to ex-wife, Mia.
Mia later denied that happened, but did tell Entertainment Tonight this:
“Last week, an incident occurred, that pushed him to the breaking point, but was not accurately reported,” she said.
“I hope that at this moment we can all wrap our arms around Kristoff and help him in this time of need. Help him heal and move forward. This is not a ‘gossip’ story, or an interesting headline, this is a man trying to deal with a tragedy, that has torn apart his soul. Right now what he needs is your thoughts and prayers.”
A week later, St. John took to Twitter for a the first time in about 10 days and posted words about strength. On Wednesday, he took to Instagram to thank his fans and followers for their support during this difficult time.
The St. Johns lost their son, Julian, nearly three years ago to suicide and have been working to build mental health awareness ever since.
