When Leo put that evil eye on Will on Tuesday, it seems that was the last Days of Our Lives fans would lay eyes on Greg Rikaart.
The actor took to Twitter on Tuesday evening to announce Leo’s last stand in Salem today.
“That’s a wrap on Leo,” Rikaart tweeted. “Thanks for all the love. Playing this role has been a gift. An absurdly fun and delicious gift.”
Rikaart enjoyed two separate stints on DAYS over the last year. Leo first came to town working for Vivian (and after her death, Kate took over) and cozied up to Sonny in a scheme to catch Sonny in a sexual harassment lawsuit.
He was then presumed dead after being hit over the head and wrapped in a rug, but of course, dead is never dead on soaps and he returned so we could learn his background.
It turned out Leo Stark was really Matthew Cooper, son of Diana Colville, John’s former love from the 80s then played by Genie Francis and recently played by Judith Chapman.
Chapman and Rikaart played mother and son for years as Gloria and Kevin on The Young and the Restless and fans are already speculating they could return to that soap.
Since so much of the Mal Young decisions are being reversed for a clean slate on the CBS drama, it doesn’t seem out of the question. Stay tuned and find out…
That’s a wrap on Leo. Thanks for all the love. Playing this role has been a gift. An absurdly fun and delicious gift. #DAYS
