If General Hospital had a competent police force, Port Charles would be a very different place. Mob boss Sonny wouldn’t be at the forefront of all charitable giving and morality.
Hit-man Jason (Steve Burton) would be entering his third decade in jail. Ava (Maura West) would have been run out of town, Obrecht (Kathleen Gatti) deported, and serial killer Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) would never have gotten the chance to get his killing streak going.
But we all know that Port Charles does not have competent police. But is Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry) the worst commissioner yet? We’re not counting Bert Ramsey (Bob Hastings), who spent decades as Robert (Tristan Rogers) amiable side-kick before being exposed as the infamous Mr. Big who was really Duke’s (Ian Buchanan) mob chief.
Bert’s motivation for switching to the dark side? He was unhappy about Anna (Finola Hughes) being made commissioner over him. So, technically, he was a commissioner.
Which just leaves Jordan. Here’s how almost 8,000 fans feel about her career prospects.
Book ‘Em
The woman can’t seem to close a case, 74% of you stomp your feet in frustrated fury. We understand she can’t put Sonny behind bars. No one is allowed to do that. When Taggert (Real Andrews) tried, he was painted as a big ol’ meany.
But if she can’t bring down a small town mobster, can’t Jordan at least overpower an international power-broker like Faison (Andres Hove), or a serial killer that’s practically under her own nose?
In fact, she has that killer helping her solve the case. Oy! So, no, she can’t seem to bring ANYONE down at all. The woman is useless. So cut her loose already!
A for Effort
Jordan is no worse than any of her predecessors, 26% remind us, and that includes Robert, Anna, Taggert and all the nameless pikers in between. It’s the job, not the person in it, that’s a failure.
