With Vincent Irizarry leaving Deimos Kiriakis behind on Days of Our Lives (DOOL), soap fans have been wondering what he’ll do next. And, General Hospital (GH) fans know exactly where they want to see him.

They want to see him on their show reprising the role of David Hayward, the part he played on All My Children off and on from 1997-2013.

With ABC now once again owning the rights to AMC and One Life to Live characters (and even featuring Nora Buchanan on GH), it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Irizarry could bring back David, but would he do it? Let’s hear it from him.

“I love that character and if the opportunity arose, I’d certainly consider it,” Irizarry told Soap Hub when we caught up with him at this year’s Daytime Emmys on Sunday.

“I love working with Finola, as well,” he added. “We had a great working relationship together. The characters just worked. [And] I’ve worked with so many people from [GH] behind the scenes that it would be exciting to get to work with them again.”

SH informed Irizarry that Anna (Finola Hughes) has been having some medical trouble (or is that Alex?), so it would be perfect if there’s a doctor in the house.

Irizarry responded with, “If they got in touch with me, I’ll try to see if I can come in and give her an examination and bring her back to good health!”

Fans will certainly recall that Anna and David were married at one time and even had a daughter, Leora. When the baby died from a heart condition, the grief overwhelmed them and the marriage didn’t survive.

However, now Anna is acting awfully strange and many wonder if she’s her twin, Alex. Either way, she certainly needs some help–AND a love interest that we KNOW works. Paging Dr. Hayward to the rescue?
