General Hospital writers work hard to find the perfect dialogue to fit the perfect combination of the actors and their characters, but sometimes performers like to take liberties of their own.
At the recent General Hospital fan event at Graceland, the actors in attendance admitted that they have more dialogue than ever to remember in recent years, and they typically only see their own scenes.
But, some current and past GH stars have been known to throw their scene partners off every once in a while — and two absolute legends would basically say to hell with the script.
The culprits are none other than Luke and Scorpio themselves, Tony Geary and Tristan Rogers, who were said to never stay on script.
Actors always had to be on their toes when sharing scenes with them because they never knew what would come out of their mouths.
With Rogers back on-screen this week after taping some more episodes, we wonder who he threw off this time.
Donnell Turner admitted he likes to give Curtis his own personal flair and said when he was hired for the job, he was told to “use his words.”
So, that’s exactly what Turner does as he brings so much of himself into Curtis.
Maurice Benard is another current actor who likes to surprise his co-stars. He admitted he keeps things fresh by sometimes saying his lines differently each time. Occasionally, he will speed them up and other times he talks more slowly.
Either way, it keeps us entertained and we never know when these consummate professionals might get a little creative.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
