Michael Easton’s soap career stretches back nearly 30 years and began with his one-year stint on NBC’s Days of Our Lives. But just how much do you know about this uber-talented actor/writer? From his leading man roles to the fictional award he should win here are five fast facts about Michael Easton.

Spotlight
Although Easton has spent decades working as part of an acting ensemble he has actually had the starring role in two science fiction television series. The first one was in 1995’s VR.5 and the other in Total Recall 2070.

The ABC Merry-Go-Round
It’s quite possible that Easton could win an award for playing the most characters on a single network’s daytime line up. He first joined the ABC network to play “vampire” Caleb Morley on Port Charles before joining the cast of One Life to Live as John McBain.

After that shows cancelation he briefly played the same role on Genera Hospital (and briefly reprising his Port Charles character) before assuming the role of Doctor Silas Clay. That character was murdered in 2015 and a few months later Easton returned to the soap as another doctor named Hamilton Finn.

You’ve Been Bumped
Pre-emptions of soap operas for special news events is a practice dating back to the genre’s early days. On the day that Easton was supposed to make his return to the GH canvas the episode was pushed back so the network could show footage of former First Lady Nancy Regan’s funeral.

All The Write Stuff
Easton has authored (or co-authored) three outstanding graphic novels beginning with the horror-inspired trilogy Soul Stealer, which was released in 2010. Since then, he has written the limited series Credence for Blackwatch Comics and he co-wrote the Vertigo Comics special The Green Woman.

All The Write Stuff, Part Two
Not only has Easton won critical acclaim in the field of comic book writing, but he has also won a number of accolades for his film scripts. His 2015 film, Ultraviolent, received the Grand Prize at both the Barcelona and Canadian International Film Festivals and after critical praise, his short film Daedelus is Dead was purchased by The Sundance Channel.
