The marriage of Wendy Williams and Kevin Hunter is officially on its way to being over. After over 21 years together, the daytime talk show is splitting from her man after years of cheating rumors and accusations.
According to Page Six, the 54-year-old’s attorney confirmed the news on Thursday, April 11. She and the 46-year-old tied the knot back in November 1997 and they have one son together, 18-year-old Kevin Jr.
This news also comes just a couple of weeks after reports surfaced that Hunter allegedly welcomed a child with his mistress, Sharina Hudson.
However, at the time, Williams dismissed split rumors and said on her show that she’s still in love with her husband.
“I want to shout out to my husband. I am still wearing my ring. When you’ve been with somebody for 28 years, married for 25 years … we know each other. He is my best friend, my lover. He’s all this and he’s all that,” she shared.
“I’m still very much in love with my husband. Anybody who has been married for five minutes or 500 years, you know marriages have ebbs and flows. … And don’t ask me about mine until you see [my wedding ring] gone — it ain’t going anywhere, not in this lifetime.”
Sure enough, on today’s episode of The Wendy Williams Show, Williams was spotted not wearing her wedding ring, which fueled speculation all over the Internet that her marriage was over.
The split also comes shortly after Williams announced she’s been living in a sober home to deal with her addiction issues. She opened up about her current situation on her show last month.
