Emilia Clarke is expressing her gratitude to some very kind Game of Thrones fans. The beloved actress shared a video responding to a Reddit user who started a fundraiser to support Clarke’s charity, SameYou.
“So I think I’m pretty late to the game on this, but Elle Ellaria and your Reddit page, you guys! You’re raising money for SameYou, I can’t believe….I’m so incredibly moved, and blown away, and grateful, and thank you, and thank you, and thank you,” Clarke said in the clip.
“I’m genuinely completely lost for words. Someone told me about this and then I saw it and was just…mind blowing. Thank you so much!”
SameYou is a charity that focuses on helping people recover from brain injuries — something Clarke herself went through when she had two brain aneurysms during the early seasons of shooting Game of Thrones. But she survived both times and decided to start this charity to help others.
Along with the video, Clarke wrote a sweet message for the fans and thanked them again for supporting the cause.
“Ok so ‘speechless’ is a very fluid term…. that I’ve ignored in this rambling video BUT how could I be when there are so many thank you’s to give to YOU AMAZING HUMAN BEANS!!!!! Bloody hell, I am one very lucky lady to have such kind, generous, shining spirited fans who are raising money for my charity @sameyouorg,” she wrote.
“Elle Elaria and your reddit page where you have raised almost £38,000 has made my day, week, month, year, decade, and I couldn’t think of a more beautiful way to wave goodbye to the mother of dragons than with this step towards making brain injury sufferers feel less alone. YOU ARE MY HEROS.”
