Marriage for less than noble reasons is a soap opera staple, and Days Of Our Lives is no stranger in that area. You can get married for money, you can get married for revenge, you can get married for a baby that may or may not be yours.
Haley (Thia Megia) and Tripp (Lucas Adams) are getting married so she doesn’t get deported back to China. And to stick it to Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Eve (Kassie DePaiva).

Cue the Violins!
They have to, 60% of you sigh, it’s how the story goes. Right now, Hayley and Tripp think they’re just faking it. It’s what they told JJ (Casey Moss) and Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan).
Claire is currently scheming with Eve to expose the marriage as a sham, so it’s doubtful her relationship with Tripp is poised to be long-lasting. Plus, Claire set Ciara (Victoria Konafal) on fire. And Keegan is leaving the show. So, one down.

There’s romantic potential with JJ — they’ve made out a couple of times — but proximity is important. And Haley and Tripp are about to be spending a lot of time together. Down at the immigration office.
Three’s Company
What fun is it if the pair who is actually legally married is the one that falls in love, a smaller 40% wonder. Wouldn’t it be more fun if Haley’s feelings for JJ continue to deepen, and then they have to fight them if they want to keep Hayley from being deported and Tripp jailed?
Think of the longing glances, the stolen kisses, the sexual tension. That’s what soaps are all about, and DAYS shouldn’t waste the opportunity. ‘Jaley’ is where the action should happen!
