The uber-popular Alison Sweeney is still adored by “Days of Our Lives” fans everywhere. Even with one brief return last fall, fans still clamor for any type of comeback–either short-tern or long-term.
With rumors running rampant for months that Sami’s son, Will, never really died last September, TV Guide’s Michael Logan asked Sweeney if Will’s return might prompt another comeback.
“I’d certainly consider it,” Sweeney told Logan in the magazine’s June 9 issue. “I thought it was a huge mistake to kill Will, especially for the show’s 50th anniversary. I still makes me angry when I think about it.”
Sweeney played Sami Brady, the resident take-no-prisoners rabble-rouser on the NBC soap, for more than two decades.
Sami was never quite a heroine, yet never quite a villain, and fans could never quite get enough of her.
Sweeney was only in her teens when she started her Salem stay and told Logan she was surprised at how much changed over the years.
“A lot of actors feel entitled…As I was easing out of DAYS, I was shocked at how the young ones would show up not having bothered to memorize their lines.”
