Days of Our Lives left us with quite a cliffhanger on Friday as Jack (Matthew Ashford) started to have second thoughts about marrying Eve (Kassie DePaiva). Is she really the better choice for Jack than his ex-wife Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) is?

DePaiva believes that Eve is the woman who can make Jack happy. She certainly believes that becoming Mrs. Jack Deveraux is the right thing for her! “If [Eve] can become his wife that’s another step in getting closer to what she wants…power, prestige, and love,” DePaiva reveals, “She is manipulating Jack, but she truly believes that Jack can be mayor and be happy.”

The actress likens Eve winning Jack’s heart to holding a lucky lottery ticket. “If all goes her way, she gets Jack,” the actress notes. “She gets to marry Jack. She gets to stick it to Jennifer. She gets to gain power and control. All of those things that she hungers for including self-esteem. Marrying Jack will be like a good peanut butter spread over a piece of toast!

Along with her character hoping to get Jack to say “I do,” DePaiva is also contending for a Daytime Emmy again this year. On Sunday, May 5, she’ll learn if she wins the statuette for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series at the 46th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards!

The actress put on her reel scenes in which Eve blasts Brady (Eric Martsolf) for breaking her heart and rips into Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) for killing Paige (True O’Brien). “I love the Emmys because I get to see my other friends from daytime, many of the other people I’ve met over the years, and we get to celebrate what we do,” DePaiva says. “I hope Days does well. The writing is so good.” Days Of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check local listings for air times.
