If the answer is “This group of people is remembering late Jeopardy! host Alek Trebek with social media posts” — the question might be “Who are soap stars?” The Bold and the Beautiful’s Don Diamont (Bill) is among the daytime performers who have lit up the web with tributes to Trebek, who passed away from pancreatic cancer on Sunday.

Of course, actors from BB and other soaps would run into Trebek each year at the Daytime Emmys, so many of them have photos of themselves with the late game show host. “A courageous champion!” Diamont posted. “Alex Trebek said he wanted to be remembered [as] ‘Just as a good guy, [and] a nice man.’ Somebody that you looked at on television on a daily basis and said, ‘Hey, you know what, I like him.’ Alex Trebek wasn’t just liked. He was loved.
“It was my great good fortune every time I had an opportunity to spend a few minutes with Alex,” the actor adds. “He was the finest example of civility and dignity. We could use a lot more Alex Trebek’s. RIP🙏🏻👼❤️.”
“Well, his wish was accomplished because I always exclaimed that about him and I watched him every night,” posted @alluringmoonglowaria. “I’m really, really sad he’s gone. When he got up there, how much you wanna bet that HE was the one asking questions, not the other way around haha. Also, can you imagine the conversations between Alex and [late Inside the Actors Studio host] James Lipton??!! AMAZING to imagine! I’m happy Alex is at peace now and no longer in pain🙂♥️.”
“Jeopardy will never be the same,” posted @katrinas4619. “Alex was a true [Canadian] icon and a gentleman. RIP.” Trebek worked up until 10 days before his passing. His last original episode is set to air on Friday, December 25, Christmas Day. At press time, there’s been no word on a successor for Trebek. In the hearts of many Jeopardy! fans, he is irreplaceable. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
