Since the day Adam Newman (then Justin Hartley) “died” in a fiery explosion, fans discussed speculation about his return. And, Hartley’s new primetime show This is Us is a huge hit, so the previous incarnation of Adam, in the form of Michael Muhney, is the frontrunner among the public to return to the role!
Needless to say, there is a petition floating around to reinstate Muhney and he recently took to social media to express his gratitude for all the support he’s received. You may remember that he left the show amid a flurry of uncomplimentary rumors.
It all started when he retweeted the online petition asking to bring him back on the show as Victor’s son and apparent heir to Newman Enterprises.
“I just read through all the comments in this petition. Brought tears to my eyes. So blown away by people’s passion for my work.”
He went on to write about how grateful he felt for the support of such amazing fans. Thanking them for their enthusiasm for his portrayal of the beloved Genoa City character.
“Just feel like all I ever want to say is “thank you.” For being positive, for encouragement, for your passion & enthusiasm for my craft.”
Fan comments clearly touched his heart. He responded with even more thankfulness. The overwhelming support honored him, and he mentioned how rare such support is.
He concluded with alluding towards the fact that he’s been on a journey for many years and that he certainly likes himself much better now than the “him” from a few years ago.
While he didn’t directly address any of the rumors, that series of tweets, which you can see below, certainly seem to acknowledge that he made changes for the better in the last few years.
Do you think this could change Sally Sussman’s plans to not bring Adam back?
