The Young and the Restless (YR) recap for Wednesday, May 23 features characters taking one step forward and two steps back.
Jack and Kyle schemed over how to usurp Billy’s position at Jabot, Sharon looked for help to keep Nick from returning to Newman, and Abby took a risk with Arturo.
New Directions
Billy (Jason Thompson) told Jack (Peter Bergman) he can have any position he wants at Jabot… just not CEO. Billy reminded him how Jack always urged Ashley (Eileen Davidson) to embrace being Number Two.
Billy voiced his new ideas for Jabot, which Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) encourages. Gloria (Judith Chapman) admitted Billy has some interesting concepts, but assured Jack she is on his side.
Jack and Kyle (Michael Mealor) made plans to regain their rightful places at the top of the food chain.

In a complete 180 from what Nick (Joshua Morrow) said when he gave away his entire trust fund and disowned Victor (Eric Braeden), he is now suddenly concerned about protecting his legacy.
He’s seriously considering accepting Victor’s offer to return to work at Newman and is confident that this time, he can handle his dad.
Sharon (Sharon Case) is against it, and called Victoria (Amelia Heinle) to help Sharon talk Nick out of it.
