The Young and the Restless (YR) recap for Tuesday, October 17 is money-driven to the max, as Nick’s family suddenly feels destitute and Graham wants to make sure he’s still going to get his.
Diff’rent Strokes
Ashley (Eileen Davidson) rushed an unconscious Dina (Marla Adams) to the hospital, where her personal physician (brought in by Graham) announced that Dina has had a stroke.
Graham (Max Shippee) insisted that Dina will want to see him, and taunted Dina’s children with all the personal information she shared with him about them as proof. Jack (Peter Bergman), Ashley, and Traci (Beth Maitland) tried barring him from Dina’s room, but then Graham revealed he has Dina’s medical power of attorney….
Other People’s Money
Nick (Joshua Morrow) made a grand gesture and pledged $500 million to charity. Sharon (Sharon Case) is horrified. How will their poor children survive? Their precious babies need a cushion to protect them from life and, yes, $500 million does seem like an appropriate number to keep them nice and cosseted.

Noah (Robert Adamson) is equally upset. Now he and Nick will actually have to work for a living, instead of dipping into his trust fund whenever they fail. Later, Noah realized how spoiled and entitled that sounds, but Sharon prefers her kids remain spoiled and entitled. And for that they need money, Nick!
Orphans of the Storm
Victor (Eric Braeden) tells Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) the best way to reunite him and Nick is for Nikki to lead by example and move back to the ranch. Nikki passed. (And then graciously passed Victor on to Gloria.)
Nick actually has his own idea for making peace with Victor. He told his dad a big chunk of the money will be earmarked for orphans. You know how Victor is always bringing up his poor orphan past. Will this make up for it? It’s a start, Victor says.
