The Young and the Restless (YR) recap for Thursday, October 5 nips previous ambitions in the bud, as Graham’s mother reminded him what they’re really after, Cane undermined Hilary’s plans, Victoria’s headaches were back, and Lily got an offer that could change her life.

Mother Knows Best
For months and months and months, viewers — along with Ashley (Eileen Davidson) — have wondered what Graham (Max Shippee) had in mind for Dina (Marla Adams) that was worth him dedicating literally years of his life to the plan.

Well, now we know. When Graham balked, his mother, Myrna, reminded that his ultimate goal was to alienate Dina from her children, and thus punish her for the fact that Myrna’s husband, Brent, left Myrna and Graham for Dina (after fathering Ashley).

So, let’s get this straight: Myrna and Graham’s revenge plot against Dina involves turning her children against her. The same children with whom she hadn’t had any contact in years.

So… Graham brought Dina to Genoa City in order to keep her more separate from her children than they were when Dina lived in Paris? Graham is… not the sharpest knife in the drawer? Bad at geography?

Moving Up In the World
Now that she’s decided to divorce Cane (Daniel Goddard), Lily (Christel Khalil) is worried about supporting herself and the kids. She told Neil (Kristoff St. John). Neil complains to Victoria (Amelia Heinle), and, ipso presto, Lily is now a Brash & Sassy executive! It’s good to have friends in high places.

While Billy (Jason Thompson) was offering Lily the position, Victoria was yelling at Hilary (Mishael Morgan) about colluding with Jack (Peter Bergman) — and listening to the voices in her head. Yeah, they’re back.

As for Cane, he told Juliet (Laur Allen) not to listen to Hilary about moving back to Japan. He wants her — and their child — to stay in Genoa City.

Y&R airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for air times.
