The Young and the Restless (YR) recap for Thursday, January 4 centers on the search for Christian, as Nick lashes out at Chelsea, the Abbotts realize just how far gone Dina really is.
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Eagan) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) frantically searched for Christian, with Nick blaming his girlfriend for the tot going missing. They called the police, and chief Paul (Doug Davidson) comes to personally aid in the hunt.
Paul suggested Nick let his family know what’s going on. Uhm… why? How would Victor (Eric Breaden) scowling and saying, “I told you so, this is what happens when you don’t listen to everything I say, you got that?” help the situation?
While Jack (Peter Bergman) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) squabbled over Jabot and eventually, reluctantly agree to arbitration, Dina (Marla Adams) is upstairs, playing with Christian, whom she is calling Jackie. It would seem an ill Dina remembers being a better mother than she actually was.
And that Christian is the sort of toddler who doesn’t scream bloody murder when a stranger picks him up, transports him to another location, and keeps him from his parents. Jack called Nick, who rushed over to get his son and, later, confesses to Chelsea that the possibility of losing Christian reminded him of when he lost Cassie.
Ringing In the New Year
Lauren (Tracey Bregman) lectured Scott (Daniel Hall) about cheating. Later, Sharon (Sharon Case) tossed all his clothes. So Scott, naturally, pulled out an engagement ring and proposed marriage.
Sharon ground the ring into the dirt. Abby showed up and Sharon told the younger woman she’s welcome to the bastard. Maybe Scott should return to the Middle East. It was calmer there.
