The Young and the Restless (YR) recap for Friday, January 26, features Ashley moving on with the person Jack hates the most, Tessa losing everything, and Nikki spilling a secret about J.T. to Victoria.

A Line In the Sand… And On a Contract
When Ashley (Eileen Davidson) told Jack (Peter Bergman) that they were through, she wasn’t kidding. Sure, she’ll continue living in the Jabot house. You can’t expect a woman in her late 50s to move out and live on her own!

But now that she’s quit Jabot, Ashley is starting her own company. And she has a new partner… Victor (Eric Braeden). Who has never met another person’s family tragedy that he wasn’t happy to take advantage of. You got that?

Everybody Hates Tessa
Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) was shocked – shocked! – that Devon (Bryton James) would fire her for the minor, measly crime of stealing a song and passing it off as her own.

Devon ultimately agreed to let Tessa take on another job at the company, so she won’t end up owing him money. We hope she won’t be putting a hard-working – and honest – cleaning woman out of work.

Noah (Robert Adamson), on the other hand, wasn’t as generous. He’s furious with Mariah (Camryn Grimes) for lying to him about kissing his girlfriend. (He’s not too crazy about Sharon for keeping Mariah’s secret, either.) And, later, Noah also dumped Tessa, accusing her of using him.

Medical Malpractice
Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) caught J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) at the hospital and, instead of assuming he’s just there for a check-up or to get an allergy prescription filled, instantly called Victoria (Amelia Heinle) to report her discovery.

Victoria confronted J.T., who said the pills are for his heart. It would seem getting electrocuted all those years ago wasn’t good for it, and Mac promising to marry him while he lay in the hospital wasn’t the miraculous cure it was cracked up to be.

He insisted he’s fine, the pills aren’t affecting his mood, and everything is OK. That was… anti-climactic.
